Yellow exclamation mark on C drive on Windows 10/11

C 드라이브에 노란 느낌표 경고 표시가 나오는 경우는 공간등의 다른 에러 일수도 있으나 대부분의 경우 Bitlocker와 관련이 있는경우가 많습니다.

 

It basically indicates that Bitlocker is wating, not activated or suspended.

 

 

Solution :

Below is a list of all the effective solutions you can try to remove the Yellow triangle warning with a padlock on C Drive on Windows 11/10.

1. Run the Chkdsk command
2. Enable BitLocker Encryption
3. Disable BitLocker Encryption

Case 1. Run the Chkdsk command

1. Press the Windows key to open the Start menu.
2. In the search bar, type Command Prompt and press the Enter key.
3. From the result, choose the Run as administrator option.
4. Now, in the cmd window, type chkdsk /f and press the Enter key.

Case 2. Enable BitLocker Encryption

1. To begin with, open the Settings menu by pressing the Windows + I shortcut key.
2. In the System section, locate and open the Storage option.
3. Click on the drop-down icon present next to Advanced storage settings.
4. Choose Disks & volumes.
5. Select C Drive and choose the Properties option.
6. In the following window, select Turn on BitLocker.
7. Choose Enter a password.
8. Create a strong and unique password to unlock the drive.
9. Tap on the Next option.
10. Under How to back up your recovery key, select Save to Microsoft account.
11. Click on Next.
12. Select Encrypt used disk space only (faster and best for new PC’s and drives).
13. Tap on the Next option.
14. Choose New encryption mode (best for fixed drivers on this device) as the encryption mode to use.
15. Now, click on Next > Start encrypting.

Case 3. Disable BitLocker Encryption

  1.Open Command Prompt in the administrator mode.

  2.Type the following command, and press the Enter key.

manage-bde -off C:

 

That’s it. The process will take some time.

Once it’s completed, restart your system. You’ll notice that you’re no longer seeing the Yellow Triangle warning.
